Description

Many clients move in and out of therapy reporting surface changes leaving deeper distress untouched. Watch us in exploring how neurofeedback gives us direct access to the underlying nervous system by reflecting the language of the brain back to itself. With a focus on neuroscience, discover how using this direct brain language helps move clients beyond suffering toward a state of genuine wellbeing. Discover how neurofeedback helps:

  • Improve emotional and physiological regulation within the central nervous system (CNS), the body’s global information coordinator
  • Influence the organizing activity of the CNS, improving mood, focus, energy, and chronic issues such as insomnia and pain
  • Interface with the brains’ patterning of old trauma configured in neural networks, supporting reconfiguration of these past events by harnessing neuroplasticity directly

Objectives

  1. Develop a model for understanding the electrical language of the brain and CNS as reflected in the EEG.
  2. Demonstrate how neurofeedback allows us to modify the brain’s electrical activity to increase stability, flexibility, and connectivity.
  3. Demonstrate how increased stability, flexibility and connectivity of the CNS increases the capacity for Optimal Arousal and Affect Regulation.
  4. Practice through clinical vignettes and videos on the application of neurofeedback to familiarize attendees with the effects of neurofeedback in clinical practice.
  5. Categorize neurofeedback hardware and software.
  6. Differentiate between various neurofeedback applications and why the presenters have chosen the approaches they have.
  7. Determine the process of becoming a neurofeedback provider, including the path to certification.
  8. Apply practical interventions for integrating neurofeedback into a psychotherapeutic practice.
